Disposable DPF Diesel Particulate Filter

The disposable DPF is a useful tool for a fleet owner to use that will quickly reduce the emissions of their trucks.

The amount of soot and other particulate matter that is removed from the exhaust fumes is dependent on whether or not the DPF is the only pollution-reducing device on the truck. If it is a standalone unit, then up to 85% of all soot and particulate matter can be removed. If paired with other devices, a near 100% reduction can be achieved.

Some of the other helpful devices that can be paired with the diesel particulate filter are the combo filters, the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), and the Purimuffler. Each of these effective tools, when placed in conjunction with the DPF, will reduce the harmful emissions that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere.

For the fleet owner that wishes to reduce maintenance cost that a disposable filter introduces, there is a passive regenerative diesel particulate filter available. While there is some maintenance required for this passive DPF, it does last longer in between cleaning and does not have to be periodically replaced.

The Purifilter is such a passive regenerating DPF that is leading the industry with a 90% reduction in particulate matter from being released on systems where it is retrofitted. This is in part obtained because of the silicon carbide substrates that are used in the filter element itself.  In tests, this element has proven to perform better and last longer than what most other manufacturers of DPFs are using.

The disposable DPF is a very useful tool that will reduce the amount of soot and other particulate matter from reaching the end of any tail pipe it is attached to. The only improvement a fleet owner can make is to use the passive regenerative power of the Purifilter as their choice of DPF.
